Indonesia represents a politically stable, economically strong, and law-abiding nation where religious diversity and democracy goes hand-in-hand to achieve social justice for its people.

It is the fourth largest country with more than 250 million people and the biggest Muslim population worldwide. It is the world’s third largest democracy and home to multicultural societies who are firm believers of unity in diversity.

Indonesia’s contribution to the cause of global peace dates back to the early years of its independence. Indonesia is one of the initiators of the 1955 Asian-African Conference that promotes world equality among nations, peaceful settlement of disputes, cooperation among countries, and opposes colonialism.

As a founding member of ASEAN, Indonesia has contributed in creating an ecosystem of peace, stability, and prosperity in Southeast Asia and in the wider region. Indonesia also actively promotes South-South and Triangular Cooperation, and is a member of G20 representing emerging economies.

Indonesia is also the co-founder and active member of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of 77 that strives to advance cooperation among developing countries to ensure mutual progress for all.
